Generational Curses

Dwan Riggins

Our elders are/were not perfect. Honest introspection reminds us that neither are we.

As we endeavor to break generational curses/cycles …may we lead with Grace: love, compassion, patience, honor, and humility. Because while we are in the process of breaking curses, it’s quite possible to perpetuate another cycle that’s rooted in pride, arrogance, and resentment. Those who hurt us can’t heal us. God, alone, specializes in that. Breaking cycles begins with the realization that we too are inadequate and need a Savior. It’s the sacrifice of Jesus that enables us to begin afresh …not our therapists, degrees, insights, and revelations. Those are tools, good tools, but they are not the Source. For that, we don’t allow the tools to puff us up into self-righteousness and finger-pointing.
